Native to American tropics. It is a member of the euphorbia family. Has a wonderful variety of leaves that can grown full green, variegated, or with slight pink, add to this the zig zag nature of the spines, and its wonderfully odd flowers, and you have a unique addition to a plant collection.

This is considered a relatively easy plant to maintain
This plant prefers bright indirect light in summer time, during winter time, place the plant in direct sun.
Keep the plant moderately moist, once a week watering is sufficient, cull back a little in winter time if soil feels still wet when you go to water next. Plant prefers the dry side over the moist.
Grown best in cactus and succulent soil, with some perlite mixed in.
