Sansevieria 'Danish Crown'
+ Comes in a 6" plastic container.
CLASSIFICATION / GENUS:
Asparagaceae / Sansevieria
Sansevieria Danish Crown
Can grow up to 4 feet tall and 10 inches wide.
Can be planted outdoors in Zone 10a- 11b.
Very low maintenance
The Danish Crown does best in moderate to bright indirect light, bright light will bring out the colors in the leaves. Though as with most Sansevieria plants, they can also do fine in low light areas. Intense direct sun should be avoided.
Like all Sansevieria a little water goes a long way. Dont saturate this plant by any means. Treat it like a succulent. Never allow the water to become soggy, or have the pot stand in water, this can lead to rot quickly with a sansevieria.
Grown best in well-draining succulent/cactus soil.
DOES IT FLOWER?
Yes, if grown in bright light, it can form a stalk of white flowers clusters coming from the center of the plant.
IS IT POISONOUS/TOXIC?
CAN IT BE PROPAGATED FROM CUTTINGS?
You cannot propagate from cuttings, but you can by dividing the plants "pups" which are essentially their bulbs, into new plants. To do this take the snake plant out of the pot, and you will be able to notate full sections grown from single sources, and then interwoven together with a mass of roots, just pull one of these sections off, and replant in new soil. Easy peasy.
Sansevieria plants are by their very nature considered one of the hardiest indoor plants. So not much can take this one down except overwatering / Common pests: Mealy bugs, Scale, and Spider mites; outdoors would be / Other common ailments: fungal spots, bacterial rot.
WINTER TRAVEL: PLEASE MAKE SURE TO PURCHASE A HEAT-PACK (FOUND WITHIN OUR STORE) IF THE PLANT IS TRAVELING IN BELOW 50 DEGREE WEATHER.
