Craic House

This project was from a design competition Jesse was in while working with Abramson Teiger architects. The premise revolved around creating a boutique hotel in downtown Los Angeles. The client wanted part of the museum to act as a gallery and was obsessed with Damien Hirst. Running with this, Jesse incorporated perforated metal screens into the siding of the building that each had a skull imprint cut out of them, so that when the light and shadows played both inside and outside of the building, the skulls would be displayed on different areas, essentially creating a living museum. Inside the space, the main lobby highlighted an artist residency that could be viewed by onlookers checking into the hotel. The restaurant was also a continuation of artistic elements. Materials internally were kept minimal in order to highlight revolving art.
